Introduction to Choreography

I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in dance and minored in creative writing. I strive to create safe dance spaces for all identities and abilities. And believe everyone deserves to dance because dance has saved me throughout my life. Dance is therapy, oxygen, comfort, confidence, and community. I am excited to bring another LGBTQ+ narrative to the dance world, as my senior capstone addressed the gender binary in ballet history.

My first large-scale piece of choreography was created out of mass collaboration. I knew the story I was telling had themes many could relate to. I wrote three poems that stitched the storyline together. These poems guided the music creation by my brother and shaped the movement by the incredible 14 dancers involved.

I like to create movement that shapes atmosphere, illustrates story, and leaves room for imagination, or may even spark it.
